This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on Data Roaming: what they do, how long they last and how you can control them. It goes with our privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal information in general.
Cookies at a glance
- Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working. They open your order page, keep you signed in to your account and keep our team signed in to the admin area. They don't need your consent, and we don't use them to follow you around the web.
- Optional cookies only load with your consent. Analytics and advertising tools only run after you accept them in our cookie banner. While we don't use any, our cookie notice simply tells you about the essential cookies.
- We count visits without cookies. Our own visit counter doesn't set cookies or store your IP address.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in much the same way. Some are needed for a website to work at all; others, such as analytics and advertising cookies, are optional.
Strictly necessary cookies
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| dr_order_ followed by your order number | Lets only your browser open your order page and eSIM QR code. It's set when you place an order or open the link in your order email. | 90 days |
| dr_customer | Keeps you signed in to your account. | Up to 30 days, or until you sign out |
| ra_admin | Keeps members of our team signed in to the admin area. Visitors never get this cookie. | 12 hours |
Scripts on the page can't read these cookies, and they're only sent over secure connections.
Local storage
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| dr-cookie-notice | Remembers that you've seen our cookie notice, so it doesn't appear on every page. | 12 months |
| dr-consent | Remembers your choice about optional cookies, if we ask for one. | 12 months |
| dr-purchase- followed by your order number | Makes sure a completed purchase is only counted once. | Until you clear your browser data |
| dr-stale-reload | Lets a page reload itself once if it was open while we updated the website. | Until you close the tab |
Cookies from our service providers
- Payments: when you pay, our payment providers, Stripe and PayPal, may set their own cookies in the payment form to process your payment securely and help prevent fraud. Their own privacy policies explain how they use them.
- Security and delivery: our website runs through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and delivers pages quickly. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies, for example to tell real visitors from automated traffic.
Optional analytics and advertising cookies
We only use these tools if we've switched them on, and they only load after you accept them. If you reject them or don't make a choice, they don't load at all. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we keep advertising tools off.
The optional tools we use at the moment:
None at the moment. We don't use any optional analytics or advertising tools right now, so there's nothing to accept: our cookie notice only tells you about the essential cookies.
If you accept them, these tools may set their own cookies to count visits, understand how the website is used and measure our advertising. Each tool's privacy policy explains the cookies it sets.
How to control cookies
- On our website: use the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page to see our cookie notice again or, when we use optional cookies, to change your choice at any time.
- In your browser: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you won't be able to open your order page or stay signed in to your account.
- Starting again: clearing your browser's data for this website also clears your cookie choice. If we use optional cookies, we'll ask you again on your next visit.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when the cookies we use change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
