Coverage

Coverage in Global

Global eSIMs are designed for round-the-world trips, frequent flyers and digital nomads who cross continents. They trade a higher price per GB for convenience: one profile, one top-up, many countries. Country lists differ between providers, so always confirm every stop on your route.

  • Global plans usually include the most visited countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Oceania, plus selected countries in the Middle East and Africa.

  • Coverage depth varies by country — some may be 4G only or limited to one partner network.

  • Smaller or less-visited countries are the most likely to be missing from a global list.

What travelers say

4.9 out of 5 from 4 customer reviews

  • Japan Travel eSIM

I used a travel eSIM during my trip to Japan and it was much easier than relying on international roaming. I activated it before my flight and had mobile data as soon as I arrived.

    Sarah M.

  • International Travel

Having a separate data plan made things much simpler. I could keep my main SIM active for calls while using the travel eSIM for mobile data. No need to change physical SIM cards.

    James T.

  • Data Roaming

Before my trip, I wasn't sure how data roaming charges worked. Using a travel eSIM gave me a separate data option and helped me keep track of my usage while traveling.

    Emily R.

Data roaming in Global

Global eSIMs typically connect through roaming agreements in each country, so data roaming must be switched on for the eSIM line.

Websites may show the location of the provider's internet gateway rather than the country you're in.

If your home plan already includes roaming in most of your destinations, a global eSIM may add little value — compare before buying.

Global connectivity tips

  • 01

Write down every country on your route, including layover countries where you might leave the airport.

  • 02

Check whether the validity period is long enough for your whole trip, or whether top-ups are available.

  • 03

For a long stay in one country, a country plan or local SIM may be cheaper than a global plan.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Global eSIM

Is a global eSIM worth it?

It's most useful when you visit several countries on different continents. For one or two countries, country or regional plans are often better value.

Does a global eSIM work in every country?

No. Each plan lists the countries it covers. Always check that every stop on your route is included.

Can I keep my regular number while using a Global eSIM?

On most dual-SIM phones, yes. Keep your regular SIM active for calls and texts, and use the eSIM for data. Turn off data roaming on your regular line to avoid roaming data charges.

When should I install my Global eSIM?

Install it before you travel while you have reliable Wi-Fi, then switch it on after you arrive. Check whether the plan's validity starts at installation or first connection.
