Before launch

Replace the items in [square brackets] with your company details and the law that applies, and have these terms reviewed by a qualified legal professional.

These terms apply when you use the Data Roaming website, read our guides or buy a travel eSIM through it. By using the website, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy and refund policy.

Who we are

Data Roaming is run by Data Roaming (company number [Company registration number]), [Registered business address]. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Data Roaming, and "you" means anyone using the website.

You can contact us at [email protected] or through our contact form.

Our guides and information

Our guides explain data roaming, roaming charges and travel eSIMs in general terms. They aren't professional or legal advice.

Mobile carriers change their prices and roaming rules often, and they differ between plans and countries. We work to keep our guides accurate and up to date, but we can't guarantee that every detail is current. Always check your own carrier's terms before you travel.

Travel eSIM plans

  • Each plan page shows its data allowance, how long it lasts, where it works, when its validity starts and any fair-use limit.
  • Plans labelled "sample" are examples to show how the website works. They aren't offers and can't be bought.
  • Network names, coverage and speeds depend on local mobile networks. Coverage can be weaker indoors, underground and in remote areas, and we don't control the networks.
  • Prices are shown in the currency on the plan, and any taxes are shown at checkout.

Buying a travel eSIM

  • Check your phone first. Your phone must support eSIM and must not be locked to one carrier. It's your responsibility to check this before you buy.
  • Your order. When you pay, you make an offer to buy the plan. We accept it when we send your eSIM details. We may refuse or cancel an order, for example if a price was shown incorrectly or we suspect fraud. If we do, we'll refund you in full.
  • Payment. You can pay with the methods shown at checkout, such as card payments processed by Stripe, PayPal, or cash on delivery where we offer it. Card details are handled by the payment provider, never by us.
  • Cash on delivery. Where we offer it, your order is confirmed once we receive your payment, and your eSIM is sent after that.
  • Delivery. We send your eSIM's QR code and activation details by email once your payment is confirmed. Keep them safe and don't share them, because anyone with them could install your eSIM.
  • Installing. Most eSIMs can only be installed once. If you delete an eSIM from your phone, it may not be possible to reinstall it.
  • Validity. Each plan starts either when it's installed or when it first connects to a network, as shown on the plan, and ends when its data or time runs out, whichever comes first. Unused data doesn't carry over.

Using your eSIM

  • Use your eSIM only for lawful purposes and in line with the fair-use limits shown on the plan.
  • A travel eSIM gives you mobile data. Calls and texts on your usual number still go through your home SIM, and your home carrier may charge for them while you're abroad.
  • Data speeds vary with the network, your location and your phone. Speeds may be reduced after heavy use on plans with a fair-use limit.
  • Some plans can be topped up with more data. Where top-ups are available, they're shown before you buy.

Refunds

When you can get a refund, and how to ask for one, is explained in our refund policy. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Using our website

You agree not to:

  • copy large parts of our website or collect data from it automatically without our permission
  • try to break into, disrupt or overload the website or its systems

  • pretend to be someone else when you contact us or share a review

We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these rules.

Reviews and messages you send us

If you share a review, you confirm it's your own honest experience. You allow us to publish it on our website with your first name and destination, and to shorten it or remove personal details without changing its meaning. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

Our liability

  • We're responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
  • We're not responsible for charges from your own mobile carrier, for example roaming charges on your home SIM, or for problems caused by your phone or its settings.
  • We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses.
  • Apart from the cases below, our total liability for a purchase is limited to the price you paid for it.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our services or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms in force when you place an order apply to that order.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of [country]. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

If you have a problem, please contact us first. Most issues can be sorted out quickly.
